Brayden has a tooth

When Brayden woke from his nap today I gave him his pacifier and was holding him. A few minutes of him sitting and being calm is not very typical for him and before long he was busy trying to turn around, grabbing for the cell phone and the remote. He drop his pacifier and I put my finger by his mouth for him to suck on it. Something was different, I felt something. I didn't really know what I was feeling, but it was sharp and little...no way. It was his first tooth. It took me a minute to get his tongue out of the way so I could see it, but I finally did. I had Grandma Sandy come over and check it out, and she confirmed it. Brayden had his first tooth. I have given up on the thought of having a picture of his first tooth; I guess I could always try to get one while he slept, but I just can't bring myself to do that to him.
I should have know he was teething he has been trying to bite everything. Here he is trying to bite Jared's head.
This is his Brayden's favorite teether! He usually has this in his mouth.Brayden even tried to bite the mirror on his play mat. He has been having fun given everyone slobbers. We should have know he was getting a tooth.

Colorado vs Oklahoma

Jerry and Sandy arrived Friday afternoon from Utah. We decided to head down to Pearl Street for the Buffs Stampede. We had a good time cheering on the team and seeing some of the sights. During the night I awoke with another breast infection and I was unable to go to the game; which was terrible because it was a great game. Colorado beat #3 Oklahoma in a last minute field goal 27-24. It was so exciting, and a huge win for the program!

Brayden is 5 months

Brayden is 5 months, can you believe it. It is hard to believe that 5 months ago I was pregnant with Brayden. We are so lucky to have him in our lives. He is getting so big and we are having so much fun with him. He is a mover and I spend most of my day returning him to a safe location. Brayden's bedtime is between 8 and 9, he goes to sleep really well and sleeps through the night. He wakes up around 5 or 6 to tell daddy goodbye and to eat, then he returns to bed so he can sleep in. He loves to sleep in the morning. Once he wakes up he is only up for about an hour before he wants to take his morning nap. He is feeding every 3 - 4 hours during the day, we gave up on cereal. We started him on cereal because we thought it would help him sleep through the night, well he is doing that without the cereal so he haven't been feeding him that anymore. Brayden has discovered his tongue and is always doing funny things with it. He still loves his toes and eating his hands. He really likes it when daddy says, "ZuoZuoZuoZuoZuo". He giggles every time.
Brayden still talks a bunch and he has been discovering how loud he can get, I think he is yelling sometimes. He wakes us up by talking in the morning. He loves to make noises and move around in his crib when he wakes up. He loves to roll over and over and over. He starts to roll before his entire body is on the floor. He'll roll all the way across the floor and once he runs into something that won't let him roll, he scoots around it. It won't be long before he is crawling.
Brayden really enjoys his bathes. He kicks his feet splashing water all over.

Brayden versus the play mat

Brayden really enjoys being on the floor, doing his own thing. We call this his "Brayden Time". He has been going crazy lately. The minute we put him on the floor he starts rolling. When he reaches a point where he can't roll any more he pushes up onto his knees and scoots around. He is a mover! Brayden used to enjoy just pulling at his animals on the play mat and growling at them. Now he moves around his play mat, usually getting stuck underneath one of the bars. The other day he got stuck on the mirror. You can see what happened.

Amy & Clint Visiting

Jared's sister Amy and her husband came to visit us. They arrived on Friday and Brayden and I picked them up from the airport. We went and visited Jared and he showed them around campus. Brayden was exhausted so I took him home for a nap while they did some more sightseeing. Later we met up with Jared on Pearl Street for the Buff's parade. We were front row for the parade. Here Jared and Brayden are talking to the players as they pass by. I need to get Brayden a black shirt so he can show his Buff spirit. The game was a lot of fun, but it was really hot. Brayden and I made it through the first half in the stands and we watched the rest of the game inside. Colorado won 42-0 over Miami, Ohio. It was a great win for the Buffs, especially going into next weeks game against Oklahoma. After the game we were all exhausted so we went home and watched more football. Sunday Amy and Clint went to the Denver Broncos' game, they lost to Jacksonville. We spent the rest of the evening watching the Cowboys game (Clint's favorite team and Natalie's 33 team). The Cowboys beat the Bears 34-10, so no 33 for me.

Our week in Boise

This past week we had a great time visiting family and friends in Boise. Brayden spent a lot of time with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Libby, Aunt Hailey and Cousin Kira. Brayden spent a lot of time on the floor in the family room. He rolled and scooted all over the place.
He spent time outside looking at the horses, cats, and watering the plants with grandma.
He played with his toys, mostly just putting them in his mouth while grunting. Brayden had the most fun with his cousin Kira. It seemed like he discovered her for the first time on this trip. Brayden would look at Kira checking out her every move.

BSU vs Wyoming/ManeLine Reunion

Saturday September 15th, 2007 was a very busy day. I helped organize ManeLine's 25th reunion. I met Rachel and Emily at 9 in the morning to set up for the day. It was a lot of work, but the day went really well and was a lot of fun. We had brunch in the morning and gave Julie a DVD filled with pictures from the last 25 years. It was fun to catch up with everyone and see how everyone had changed. We had planned to ride in the parade, but that didn't work as planned. Brayden needed to eat first so we decided to watch the parade instead. Brayden seemed to enjoy the parade even the loud bands that were in the parade.

We spent some time in the Caven-William indoor before the game. Brayden was dressed in his orange until he messed his pants for the first time that day. I had to change my shirt, it was a bit messy.
He had a great time until we went into the game.Once at the game he had a pretty rough time. The game was pretty loud and he was not doing so well with the noise. He gets so tired and there is just too much going on to shut his eyes. I had to attend to some phone calls for the reunion so I had my mom take Brayden with me out of the stadium. While I was taking care of some business, Brayden was taking care of his own business. I experienced changing his diaper and his entire outfit in the bathroom stall. Once he was cleaned up he fell asleep while I walked around keeping him from all the loud yelling fans. I didn't see much of the game, but I guess I need to get used to that.

I love sleeping on my belly

Brayden has been stressing me out, because he always wants to sleep on his belly. I'll put him down on his back, and as soon as he hits the mattress he rolls over to his belly. I would wait until he was asleep and roll him back over to his back. When I would wake up in the night we would be on his belly, so I would roll him back over. I wasn't getting any sleep so I finally gave in and have been letting him sleep on his belly. Brayden feel asleep on the floor. He likes to pull on the blanket as he falls asleep and then I move it away from his face.
So peaceful! I wish I could take a nap.
Brayden got some new PJs to keep him warm at night. He usually wakes up so happy and full of smiles.

Brayden's first bath in the tub

We weren't able to bring the little bath tub, so Brayden had to bathe in the big tub. This was his first time in the big bath tub and he loved it just as much as his little bath.
He had more room so he was able to kick his feet. He was kicking water all over the place.

A full day of football

We had a fun filled day of football. We got up and went out to Marsing to see Rylan Bergersen play football. It was Rylan's first game with pads, it was pretty big time...they had an announcer so before the game they were introduced. It was a lot of fun to see him playing football. It was a bit chilly so we only watched the first half in the stands and finished the game in the car.
Rylan is number 72 he is getting the football for a run up field.

Some of us finished watching in the car...some of us took a nap.We headed back to Boise to watch Biggie's football game. Biggie had a great catch and couple of good runs. Biggie was really good at faking the other team out that he had the hand off, he did such a good job faking out the other team that they kept grabbing his flag.
Brayden had fun cheering on Biggie, and I am sure he will will be excited to play football one day.
We had fun seeing Ray Ray too, he had a red gatorade mustache. We headed back to my parents to watch the BSU game. BSU played Washington, they lost the game 24-10. Later that day Colorado played Arizona State and they also lost. It was a bad football day for all of our teams.

Brayden Eating Cereal

I had been warned about feeding cereal to Brayden. I heard that it would be a mess and to be prepared for the stink in the diaper. Well, I have to say that Brayden loved to eat and he made every attempt to get everything in his mouth.
Brayden would try to help me get the spoon in his mouth, he would grab for it and try to push it in his mouth.
He loved the cereal. I thought he was finished so I put it away and he got mad so we just kept feeding him.

It wasn't even that messy.

Visiting Boise

On Friday we got up very early (3:30) to make it to the airport on time. Brayden and I were heading to Boise for the week. Jared was leaving to go to Arizona for the Colorado vs. Arizona State game. The flight went pretty good...this is Brayden's third flight. He is a little more active so I have to entertain him more, which is easy if we don't have to sit on the tarmac for 45 extra minutes, like we did on flight to Boise from Salt Lake City, and it would have helped if I would have sat in the right seat. I noticed when I got to my parent's house that I had sat in the wrong seat...and lets just say there wasn't a whole lot of extra room. Oh well, we made it. It was really good to be back in Boise and to see family. Brayden was really excited to see Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Libby and he showed off as soon as we got there. He rolls over all the time and he is starting to scoot around. He curls his knees up underneath him and pushes himself around with his face buried into the floor. I am afraid he is going to be crawling before long.

Brayden has a new toy

Brayden has a new toy that he plays with all the time...well he tries to eat all the time. Brayden has started putting everything in his mouth. He growls and grunts until he gets it in.
Misson Accomplished!

Labor Day Hike

We hiked up Chautauqua trail to the Flatirons on Labor Day. It was a lot of work for Jared and Natalie. Jared was carrying Brayden and the backpack and Natalie hadn't done anything that strenuous since before she was pregnant.
James Hardy came with us.
Brayden had so much fun. He loves being outside.
Brayden was worn out from all the excitment.

Brayden's first CU football game

Brayden's first CU football game was against in-state rival Colorado State University at the Rocky Mountain Showdown. The game was played at Invesco Field at Mile High. We spent most of the game inside because it was so hot and loud; Brayden didn't do very well with either. The game ended with a winning field goal in overtime 31-28. Go Buffs!
