Brayden's 1st day of football practice

I can't believe Brayden is going to play tackle football this year.  He looks so cute in his gear. He loves to wear it around the house. The morning after getting his gear the first things he asked me to do was snap his helmet. 

Another day of Star Wars

There are very few days when my kids don't dress in character.  Today they were Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. As they were playing in the other room Brayden yelled,  "Mom great news Reagan is going to let me wear her tights!" He was so excited.   Of course he had to have a picture with his light saber activated and deactivated. Dallin was just happy to be included. The day before Brayden had a crash on his bike his nose lost a lot of skin.

Last day of school

I can't believe it is already the last day of school. I feel like I was just taking to school for his first day. Brayden has loved kindergarten. He loves recess, his friends, and Mrs. Power. I am excited to have him home all day and for all the fun and relaxed schedule we will get to have. Here he is getting on the afternon kindergarten bus one last time.

 

Sickness and sports

I am not sure what has been going on with Reagan lately, but she has been sick a lot. She has had a fever off and on for the past four weeks. She will have a fever for a few days, sometimes with no other symptoms and then it will pass and the following week she has another fever. Several times the fever was really high, but she had started getting a rash on her chest so it was time to get her to the doctor. Since we were leaving for Boise soon, and I wanted to bring healthy kids to meet our new little cousin I thought I should get her in. She was her silly self while waiting for the doctor.

Turns out she had strep throat, and this is a common rash you can get from strep. I was sure glad I took her in. She is such a trooper!

Dallin had a blast getting into everything while we waited. He thought he was such a big boy getting to sit in the chair all by himself.

The final full week of school for Brayden was full of fun dress up days. Today was crazy sock day. They came home in the backpack so they were probably more of a distraction for him.

He has loved playing T-ball with his friends. He is such a cutie. He has gotten a lot better during the season. He can hit the ball from both sides of the tee, and he even had some great stops while playing in the field. His team was the Gators, we heard, "Gator's ready" a lot during the game. Those little guys got very distracted at times, I can't blame them when they are waiting for so long for some of the kids to hit the ball. 

Kindergarten Round-up

Today is Kindergarten Round up at school. Brayden has been learning songs all year and they have been working really hard practicing all their parts. He had to wear jeans and a white shirt. They were getting cowboy hats and bandanas to wear at school. Brayden was pretty excited and we have been hearing him practice the songs a lot at home. Here is Brayden waiting for the bus to come; which he loves to ride.

I was able to help in the classroom that day, so I was able to see their dress rehearsal. I was so happy that I got to see it twice. It was so cute and they were all so proud of their program. Brayden was in the front row. He seemed to start of a little shy and not really singing, but he warmed up pretty quick. His part in the program was to touch cups on the floor to make the clippy cloppy sounds like a horse. They program was awesome!

Here is a picture of Brayden and his teacher Mrs. Power. We have loved her and Brayden thinks she is the best kingergarten teacher in the whole world. She really made this year awesome!

 

Kids love to dress up

My kids love to play, for the most part they play really well together. There are times when I don't see them for a really long time. We have a dress up area in the playroom, but recently they have been using their own clothes to dress how they need to. They have come down in some great looks, but it does cause a lot of laundry. Here is Reagan as a princess. She always wears this dress, and of course the high heels, crown and princess wand.

Any guesses who Brayden is? He has been a bit obsessed with Star Wars since our trip to Disneyland when he was able to fight Darth Vadar. He is Luke Skywalker. He was practicing the moves he learned while he was a trainee at Disneyland. I heard "activate, left shoulder, right shoulder, left knee, duck, on top, deactivate" so many times the weeks following our trip.

Brayden has learned to keep his light saber close by, Dallin thinks it is pretty cool too.

Since Brayden is always practice his moves, Reagan wanted to show me her moves.

Their room

We finally finished the kid's room. This is one of our first rooms we painted, over a year and a half ago. It is pretty crazy how life can really take up so much of your time. Don't mind the blackout curtain hanging in their room, it is our temporary fix for helping the kids go to sleep when it is still so bright out. The kids love to sleep in the same room, but ever since Reagan no longer goes to bed with a binkie it has been a bit more challenging to get these two to sleep. If we can get Reagan to bed first, then we usually have them both asleep by 8:30. If we try to put them to bed at the same time, it is usually close to 10 before they are both asleep. They do have a great time playing, and they are the best of friends. It can be fun to listen to them, when I am not tired and wanting to go to bed myself. The left wall has some pictures of our family. Above their bed is their initial. Above their book shelf is a board that has all the Articles of Faith on it. On the right wall there is a picture of the Boise Temple and a growth chart. I love having the growth chart in their room. We try to add their heights on their birthdays. 

On the opposite wall is their dresser. Each of them have a basket that they can keep their things in. You can see Reagan loves to keep everything. We also hang their artwork on their wall to display.

Reagan needed to be in all the pictures I took, she loves her letter or as she yells, "It's my letter!"

The kids have been doing a great job making their beds each morning. They are both so proud to do their part.

I had to share, although the picture does not do it justice, this was the most brilliant rainbow I think I have ever seen. You could even see the difference between the blue and violet. For a moment there was a second rainbow above it. It was a great way to end the day.
