Playing at the park

Saturday was some great weather and Jared was able to be home for a little bit. He was very excited to take Brayden down to the playground in our apartment complex. Brayden loves being outside and exploring all the new things. Brayden liked going down the slide.

So happy to be outside. You can see his hair is getting so long. I want to wait until we go to Utah to have Aunt Lisa give him a trim, but his hair covers his eyes half the time so I don't know if we will make it that long.
He was fascinated by all there was to see and explore and, of course, put in his mouth.
Brayden is still pointing at everything, he really couldn't get enough.
So in true Colorado form Saturday we were outside have a blast in 75 degree weather and Sunday we woke up to a Blizzard and 25 degree weather. We were awakened by a phone call letting us know that church had been cancelled because of the storm.This is our front door and it is protected by the walkway. Our door was covered with snow.
It was really windy, you can see we had our own mini drift on our balcony.

Brayden is 10 months

I can't believe that Brayden is 10 months old. It has gone by so fast. He has changed so much since he was born. There have been some changes this last month, the biggest being that we moved him out of our room. It has helped him sleep so much better. The first night in his own room he woke up twice, but went back to sleep within about 20 minutes. By the third night he was sleeping through the night. He has been taking 2 naps a day and when he is awake he is on the go nonstop. Brayden is a really good eater and has been trying to eat a lot more finger foods. Brayden has been discovering more and more, he loves to open the kitchen cupboards and play with the rice cooker. Brayden has also discovered the toilet paper roll in the bathroom, he unrolls it and then he likes to shred the paper. Brayden took his first steps and has started to take more and more steps each day. He stands by himself all the time and for as long as he wants to. He visited family in Boise and helped Mommy watch the Knoll children. He went to his first birthday party of his friend Corin from the ward.
Brayden has been talking all the time, once he gets started he can talk and talk. He is making a lot of da da sounds. He has been figuring out how loud he can get too, which is always fun.

The other night after bath time Jared brushed Brayden's hair. How do you like his new do?

Waving...kinda

While we were in Boise I watched Jared's cousins children for a week. They have three children ages 5, 3, and 15 months add Brayden 9 months, let just say it was a challenge. Brayden had fun with all the kids, but I think he was ready to have his mom back to himself by the end of the week. These pictures were taken our last night in Boise at my parent's house. He would wave to my dad and my dad would wave back, and Brayden would crack up laughing. When he waves he sticks his pointer finger out. In true Brayden fashion he only has one sock on...his new favorite thing is to pull his socks off, so it is very rare that he has both of them on at once.He is always smiling; such a happy baby.

Helping Aunt Libby with laundry

Brayden had so much fun with aunt Libby while we were visiting. He is very helpful, and wanted to help her with her laundry. He loved watching the clothes in the dryer.

First Steps

While we were visiting in Boise, Brayden decided to take his first steps. We were sitting in the chairs and Brayden was walking around them holding on. My dad decided to take the Knoll boys outside to see the horses, well Brayden must not have wanted to be the only boy still inside so he took his hand off the chair and took 4 steps towards the door where the boys were getting their shoes on. Each day he has started to take more and more steps. He get really excited when he can walk from place to place.
When he walks he puts his arms up for balance. It is so funny.

Discovering outside

Brayden loves to see what is going on outside. The morning this picture was taken, I had shown him that it was snowing outside several times. When I put him down for his nap, he kept getting up and looking out the window. It was so cute...I had to take a picture.A week later at my parent's house, he loved looking out the window. He liked to wave to my dad when he was outside, and he was able to see lots of birds. My parents neighbor had just had a baby cow, it was a week old and the cutest thing...I wish that Brayden could have seen it, but it was a too far away.
