Sitting up

Brayden just started to sit up on his own. One day he was falling over and the next day he was able to sit up all by himself. I'll leave him on the floor on his back and I'll look back down there and he is sitting up. He really likes to sit up and play with his toys.
Brayden gets so excited when he realized he is sitting up.

Brayden is too big

Brayden has been getting so big. It seems like I woke up one day and he was too big for some of his toys and crib. He is so happy, but he wasn't so happy when he realized he can't move around where ever he wants to go. In the evening I use the swing to entertain Brayden while I get dinner ready. The swing looks into the kitchen so we can see me and I sing, dance, and try to entertain him while I cook. However, the swing is getting too small for him. Check out his feet hanging over the seat.

Not only does his feet hang over he can reach the mobile and he just tries to grab the animals. This would be fine, but he arches his back and I am afraid he is going to reach right out of his seat.
Another entertainment trick I use is while I shower I put Brayden in his bouncy chair. The other day I was in the shower and heard him fussing and so I looked out and saw this. I hurried out of the shower to get some pictures.
Brayden thought he was escaping his chair, until he realized he was stuck. Once he realized he was stuck he started screaming.

While I finished getting ready I put Brayden in his crib, well he is too big for that too. I turned around and he was pulling himself up to a stand. I was in such shock that I hurried and grabbed the camera while I tried to grab him, that is why his head is cut off in the picture. I had to move the crib down a few notches to that Brayden would fall out of the crib. I am still a little worried, because apparently Jared fell out of his crib several times. He was strong enough to pull himself over the railing, I am afraid Brayden could do the same.

Happy Halloween

When I was home in September I came across this costume, I couldn't resist it. He was so cute as a monkey. I had to try it on him when we were in Boise, which only got me more excited to have him wear it for Halloween. He was pretty excited to have it on this time. We had a truck or treat for our church the day before Halloween, so we dressed Brayden up in his costume for the event. He had fun seeing all the kids dressed up. We lit our pumpkins to provide a few decorations at our trunk. Brayden was very interested in the lights that came from the pumpkins.
Since Brayden would not enjoy treat or treating we decided to stay home so we decided to have him visit friends at CU for Halloween. He showed his costume off to the women's basketball team and James.
We hung out at practice and waiting for Jared to finish. While we were there Max Helfrich showed up in his horse costume. It looked like we were starting a little barnyard at practice.

Pumpkin carving

We had a family activity to carve pumpkins. Jared and I haven't ever carved pumpkins together and it has been a long time since either of us had carved pumpkins, so it was pretty interesting trying to remember how to carve them. Jared was much better at carving because he was very particular and had to be perfect. Jared carved Brayden's pumpkin and gave him a little tooth. It was so cute. Jared's pumpkin was the big one on the left, mine was the medium sized one in the middle and Brayden's was the small one on the right.
I didn't realize how much work carving pumpkins would be. We were up until 11:30 carving pumpkins, a lot of work to throw them away in a few days.

Anderson Farm

We were invited to go to Anderson Farm with the football coaches on Sunday. We dressed Brayden up in his costume to keep him warm. We had dinner and then walked around. looking at all the farms had. We opted out of the scary corn maze didn't think that would go over to well. Brayden wasn't so sure about his costume at first, but after a while he was enjoying himself.
We walked around and checked out all the animals and rides for the kids. We opted out of the scary corn maze; didn't think that would go over to well.

Colorado vs Texas Tech

Colorado played Texas Tech this weekend in Texas. It was a good win for the Buffaloes with a 31-26 score. Brayden and I were able to watch it on TV and were really excited by the interceptions that our defense had.

Brayden is 6 months

I can't believe that Brayden is 6 months old. It has gone by so fast, before we know it he will be 1. Brayden weights 17 pounds 6 ounces and is 26 1/2 inches long. He continues to be a busy little boy. He has been eating cereal before he goes to sleep and we are going to start feeding him cereal in the morning next week. He doesn't take very long naps during the day, he wouldn't want to miss any excitement. He goes to bed around 8-9 and wakes up around 7 or 8 in the morning. He gets up around 5 in the morning to eat. He spend most of the day playing with mommy and daddy when he is home. He gets so excited when daddy comes home from work. His eyes light up and he gets mad if Jared doesn't come and play with him right away.This last month he had many visitors; both grandpas and grandmas came, Hailey, Kira, and Libby all visited. Brayden has two teeth and is crawling and sitting up by himself. While family was visiting we saw many sights around the area; downtown Denver, the Temple, the canyon, Boulder Falls, and many footballs games. Brayden made it through his first football game. He is still trying to talk a lot, but his new thing is to make noise with his tongue and he spits everywhere when he does that.

Brayden loves to explore, he gets this look in his eye when he sees something he wants.


Brayden likes to play in his exersaucer, it allows for mommy to get something done.
